Set in 16 acres on the banks of Pickering Beck, in a beautiful, peaceful location in North Yorkshire, this 18th century farmhouse offers attractive self catering accommodation. Sorry we do not accept pets in our 3 person lodge or in the cottages.

β Came over for a football tournament for the weekend 14th-16th July. Enquired if we could stay an extra night and it was no problem. It has all the necessities you need, from hairdryers, fans, toiletries, cleaning supplies for the kitchen. The kids enjoyed walking round the animals. Lovely, Peaceful & Cosy. Would highly recommend. Thanks Again.
β Our first stay here was wonderful will stay again
β Nothing
β What an utterly delightful place Barker Stakes Farm is. From the moment I arrived and was warmly greeted by Sarah, I knew I'd made the right choice. My small one bedroomed cottage (original farm's converted cart shed) was wonderful. Clean, compact, tastefully decorated and really comfortable. Patio doors in the double bedroom and lounge/kitchen area led out to a patio with table and 2 chairs that overlooked a pristine garden area. All I could hear was the singing off birds all the time, really relaxing, and the single track 'no through road' outside the property was really quiet. The wider grounds themselves were lovely. Really spacious with a scattering of timber cabins tastefully located throughout. For toddlers, there are 3 really well maintained play areas and the alpacas, rabbits, etc will be a treat for them as well. Despite its wonderful isolation, Barker Stakes is really well located. Just 1.5 miles (walkable) from Pickering, 3 miles from Flamingo Land, 7 miles from Dalby Forest (Go Ape, Walking Trails, Mountain Bike Trails/hire, Visitor Centre) and a 30 minute drive from Whitby (for walkers, the Cleveland Way clifftop coastal path from Whitby to Robin Hood's Bay is a must!). Thanks again to Sarah for the welcome; I shall return with wife and granddaughter in tow at some point in the near future.
β The fact that I was only able to stay for 3 nights.
β The cabin we stayed in was lovely, exceptionally clean and had any facilities you needed. It was in a lovely quiet location with animals right opposite the cabin. They cater for everyone and the staff were lovely. If we needed help, staff were always so helpful.
β Leaving it.
β Lovely peaceful location, fantastic play parks for the children, hot tub an added bonus, beautiful sunsets.
β Beds were on the small side
β Just far enough out of town to be quiet and relaxing .
β No real complaints.
β Self catering, very clean lodge and site, ideal location for exploring North Yorkshire Moors and more.
