This property is across from Asilomar State Beach, which offers access to Spanish Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The hotel features 2 hot tubs and rooms with fireplaces. Popcorn poppers and free Wi-Fi are standard in rooms at the Pacific Gardens Inn.

✗ Continental breakfast was average.
✓ The property is very quaint and the location is excellent. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to help our group of 13 have a great time. The beds were comfortable and the water was hot with decent water pressure. The fireplace was setup with good instructions on how to get a fire going. The popcorn popper in the room was a nice touch. On-site electric car charger was a nice bonus too.
✗ We didn't realize that ground floor rooms still had at least two steps going in and out (except for the handicap accessible rooms which did have a ramp.) Folks staying in ground floor rooms said that the noise from upstairs neighbors was very loud -- these are old wooden buildings! The breakfast service was pretty nice but there was no juice, just coffee/tea. The advertised complimentary wine and cheese was actually just wine (they stopped doing the cheese or other snacks due to Covid). The rooms were very clean -- maybe too clean? Everyone complained that their room smelled of overly strong cleaners.
✓ Location (near the ocean and in a beautiful neighborhood). The fireplace (it was lovely going to sleep with the glow and crackle of a fire in the fireplace).
✗ Curtain and blinds pulls need some servicing. I was traveling with two friends who had rooms with queen beds at $204.00 a piece. I took the king bed room that was offered at $260.00, though I had originally sought three similar rooms at the lower rate. I found that the rooms of my colleagues were actually in better condition than mine (for example, more and better electronic outlets and charging station and better natural lighting).
✓ The location is excellent, the room was spacious, the kitchen was well organized. The hot tub was nice.
✗ Room could be updated, everything seemed quite old. The sofa was very uncomfortable. There was no nightstand on one side of the bed.
✓ Your place has a pleasant atmosphere. The housekeepers were so attentive and prompt! They are the ones that answered all of our questions with smiles!!
✓ The staff was very friendly and welcoming
✗ The bathroom needed an update. It was well worn. The sink area and the bathtub are in need of an update.
✓ Loved the location because we could walk across the street to Asilomar State Beach. The continental breakfast was good because of the variety of food offered. The room was clean and had been updated somewhat. It was quiet. and peaceful.
✗ The stairs leading up to our room were a bit scary due to them being steep and the lack of a good handrail to hold on to. We are seniors and need to be very careful. Next time, we will ask for a room on the ground level.
✓ close proximity to the ocean . Quiet and beautiful surroundings. Safe neighborhoods. The property was well maintained.
✗ The hot tubs we’re not inviting. My bed was very uncomfortable. The breakfast lady in the morning could use an attitude adjustment.
