a dreamy experience

✓ It is a wonderful place with a very special unique structure where you can stay alone with a wonderful nature view, spend a wonderful time on the lake with a canoe, meet adventurous people with beyond perfect energy and share very special moments. Special thanks to the staff kri who helped me in every way, he is truly one of the most wonderful people I have ever met.

Hidden gem near the lake

✓ What a fantastic hostel, in the end I stayed for 1,5 months (long term traveller), the place is beautiful, taking a boat ride on the lake is fantastic and you can see that Robert, the owner, has a real passion for his place. Being able to take a free bicycle and daily free drinking water is a very generous offering for any traveller. Also met some amazing people here, the vibe is just really chill and good. The wifi also works very well, I was able to do business calls on the Wifi, for any digital nomad who might find it important. Highly recommend.

Best hostel I found on Sri Lanka

✓ Probably the best hostel I went to in 4 weeks on Sri Lanka. Staff is great. Friendly and help you with everything. The hostel is right a the lake, beautiful setting. Loved the Kajak, the bicycles and the slack line. Free water. The facilities are basic but suited me well. The garden is nice. Big enough to do yoga or whatever. Plenty of animals to spot. I met great people there. I can only recomand that place. I didn't liked Hikkaduwa that much but I stayed 5 days. Because I love that hostel.

✓ the hospitality of Roberto was unique! one of the best places I stayed so far. 🥰 Roberto is offering you the opportunity to order food via driver, so there is no need to go to the center or wherever (even it’s super close). He is also providing some informations about the lake, places to go or dinning options. the usage of the bikes and the Kanu were for free ☺️ if you need a break to breath or just some time for yourself go there!! this place is magical! ✨ huge plus, there is a kitchen and if you want you can also order some breakfast ☺️

Hi, thelakehostel is 2,2 km from narigama beach, it’s a beautiful 15 min walk or you can use one of our bikes … if you are in a hurry we can drop you to the beach for a little cost
