Good value and location, clean spacious rooom

✓ Good location on Lighthouse, can walk to Asilomar, Ocean View Blvd or downtown. Breakfast was only ok, too many sugary choices and no brewed decaf coffee.

✓ Great location, sauna, hot tub and pool

✗ I arranged for a late checkout with the reception desk. But the person at the reception never made a note of it or told the cleaning staff. So someone from the cleaning stuff entered my room without knocking after 11:00 a.m. thinking that I wasn't there. This was quite uncomfortable.

✗ Breakfast was a little basic, would have liked some sliced bread as well as Bagels for toasting, and some cereal and fruit would have been nice.

✓ Location, pool, hot tub, sauna and good breakfast. Very quiet location even though it's on Pacific Grove's main street. The room had a fireplace, a microwave and a fridge. Very convenient.

✗ The pool was too cold, but it was overcast and may have been fine if the sun was out.

✓ Pretty much liked everything about my stay. Impressed with how there was always plenty of breakfast food available regardless of how many people were eating. Well stocked. Always plenty of each item.

✗ No chair or table on patio if my room so couldn’t make by use of patio. What’s the point of having a patio if you can’t use it?

The Monterey Peninsula is spectacular and the Monarch is in a perfect location.

✓ Everything went well, except there was no air conditioning in the room. I understand that is normally not a concern but it was pretty warm and humid during our stay. Once we asked the front desk, they provided a fan which helped a lot. We should have asked sooner.

✗ The breakfast was delicious but it was too bad that it was all served on disposable plates and cutlery. Not very sustainable.
