Simple, good value and ideally located

✓ First time i've stayed in a hostel environment since my student days. It was much improved and the sleeping arrangements are very good. Even though it is a bunk style there is plenty of room around each of the beds for any of you possessions you wish to keep near you. The curtains are good and give complete privacy with plenty of sockets for electrical appliances if you need to charge anything or just connect them. The lounge is practical and spacious and I met plenty of fellow travellers to go out for a drink with them. The place is ideally situated, being next to the main metro station, with the TGV station only 10 mins away for the trains and also long distance buses. There are also plenty of good restaurants practically next door - I particularly liked "Les 3 Brasseurs" - nice white beer and moules frittes. Seems there was a really nice take-away just selling fries in the square in front with really good size portions of really nice tasting fries. All in all I would recommend this place

✗ apart from the 2 local french guys who seemed to think they owned the rest area since they lived there on a semi permanent bsis, absolutely nothing

Extremely clean, unbeatable location

✓ We were allowed to check in early which made a huge difference to us because we were there for a rugby match. The room was extremely clean and in a fantastic location - right in the centre, 1 min walk to the metro station.

✗ It was a little noisy outside but it wasn't really a problem. It was a great place to stay during the rugby World Cup.

Great place to stay, central and close to trains as long as you don't want to cook for yourself.

✓ solid, comfy beds, secure rooms, good lockers, decent bathrooms, very clean. great location right by trains and in the middle of town. Reliable strong wifi

✗ Kitchen was very small, very little cutlery, pots and pans etc and only space for 1 person to cook at a time.

A value-for-money hostel in a great location

✓ The staff are very friendly and the capsules/beds are very spacious. Unfortunately there is not total privacy, however there is a curtain on each bed which helps. The lockers for everyone are also relatively large and spacious. There are also quite a few facilities (shared kitchen, common space) that one could use. The location of the hostel is great, directly in the city-center.

✗ The hostel beds/capsules are in rooms in the basement - unfortunately the windows are open all the time and there is a lot of noise from outside. There was also a shared kitchen that some people used and the whole place had a particularly bad smell. The shared bathroom wasn’t particularly clean either.

Fabulous

✓ This is one of the best hostels that I've ever stayed at! Very clean, well furnished kitchen plus they had a lot of free food and condiments to use. This place is perfect if you're a traveler who is looking for a quiet place. Don't book if you're looking for a party hostel. Everyone was quiet and respectful and I loved that. I would definitely stay here again.

A terrifc base from which to see Lille.

✓ It was the first time I had stayed at a hostel for about forty years.It was very clean, extremely well situated with friendly staff. The beds were very sturdy, clean and well situated within the room such that you hardly knew there were other people in the room. The toilets and shower facilities were equally good with a nice area to sit and rest if needed.
