✓ Hotel Family Home was the perfect home base for my month-long stay in Thamel, and I agree 100% with all the positive reviews. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Thamel but on a quiet pedestrian walkway. I loved observing the neighborhood goings-on from my big window, which even overlooked a small temple. The room was clean and comfortable and everything worked well enough or was fixed promptly. As a bonus each floor has free water and there's a good Chinese restaurant downstairs, and also a convenient laundry service. But the best part was Kumar and his staff, always with a smile and a hello and ready to help. I recommend Hotel Family Home 100% without hesitation and I hope to come back someday.

Best Place to stay in Kathmandu
✓ Excellent in all respects. Rooms were large. The manager and staff were all service oriented to make their guests have the best experience in their country. I highly recommend you stay there.
✗ The one, and only drawback for some might be that there is no elevator. For us it was no problem.
