✓ The room is very spacious, breakfast and Hida beef dinner are good. Keep in mind that the dinner is at an extra charge.

✗ I couldn't take a spa in my private bathroom. Although the manager had advised me at check in that if the water was too hot, I could run cold water to adjust the temperature. I did so. Since the hot water and the cold water both kept running out of the tub but the drainage was not powerful,so the floor was flooded! I had to stop! What a pity that I couldn't take a spa in the valley of hot springs!

✓ It is an old fashioned onsen hotel. It is surrounded by mountains.

✗ One bus out and one bus in during each day. This is a hotel to stay if you drive.

✓ Amazing part of the country. Would highly recommend renting a car and driving the scenic route.

✗ The food but that’s just down to my own taste. No shops nearby so if Japanese cuisine isn’t your thing then bring a goodie bag. Amazing location and a great stay :)

The smell of the natural sulphur ruined our stay

✓ Very big rooms, with comfy beds.

✗ Old building. Bad smell of the sulphur (that comes from the natural onsen). But because of this smell no one wanted to use the private onsen or the bathroom. And that is one of the reasons why we chose for these rooms. We sprayed the room with perfume, because of this smell. The Nepalese staff was extreme friendly. But we were the only guests in the hotel. And at night there is no one at the reception, so we really felt like we were alone in an 'abanded mansion'. Breakfast was well presented, but was ok. Dinner was great, but not plentyfull and slightly overpriced. No, we had different expectations and were happy when we left the place.
