Room blunders and bad service

✓ The property was catering for an event I was attending and the food was very good.

✗ This is probably more booking.com’s fault but I had specifically ordered a family room with two beds and upon arrival was given a plain double and I had not planned to share a bed with a colleague! Nothing could be done and there wasn’t even an apology.

Good but could be improved to make it excellent

✓ friendly staff and an excellent breakfast

✗ rooms are tired and the beds are not real doubles but 2 singles together. slightly uncomfortable.

okay hotel except far too hot

✓ it was a convenient location for the station. the breakfast was good.

✗ it was far too hot, especially in the public areas. the bedroom was hot even though I had the heating off. it’s a terrible waste of energy and uncomfortable.

In need if Refurbishment

✓ Very much in need of a refurbishment paper hanging if the wall weary decor small room After saying that the staff where lively anc the breakfast was very nice

Fine for a short stay and well situated.

✓ Staff very pleasant and room was clean and quite big

✗ Had to pay to park my car overnight which I wasn't expecting. The bar wasn't open when I returned from my meal. The view from the window was of a roof.

Great hotel, but I picked the wrong night

✓ Easy check in, room not too far from front door

✗ Being kept up all night by the people in the room above me. Luckily this came to an end around 04:30am when the police arrived and arrested the guest.

Overall a pleasant stay, with areas for improvement.

✓ The room was clean and turned out nicely. The staff were all very polite and friendly. The bed was comfortable and the room was a good temperature. I ordered dinner to take up to my room and the food was delicious, hot and well presented.

✗ I was disappointed that room service was not available but there was a note in the room to advise guests could order food at the bar and take it up to their room. The cold tap on the bath was not fixed to the bath and span round when I turned it to the on position and the shower was difficult to turn on. The breakfast was OK. The cooked option was luke warm, as was the coffee, and the eggs were too salty but that may be a personal preference.
