A very nice place to stay in El Hierro

✓ The house is in very good condition and offers a comfortable bed in the main bedroom, a spacious terrace with seaview, equipped with four chairs, a table and an umbrella for shade. There is also a balcony with even better seaview which is accessible from the master bedroom and has two chairs and a little side table. All the furniture seems new and the kitchen is fully equipped with oven (which is a bit hard to work out), microwave and toaster. There could be more utensils however. The location is superb - in the middle of El Golfo with supermarkets relatively close. A car is pretty much essential. You reach several beautiful natural pools and swimming spots within a few minutes´ drive and getting to all the other parts of the island is easy. I would definitely stay here again!

✗ There is nothing I did not like about the house, only a few things that could be improved to make the stay there even nicer: pegs for hanging up the laundry and more glasses and plates in the kitchen. Also it would be nice to have fans in the bedrooms for hot Calima nights. If you have mobility problems, you need to be aware that you will have to walk up and down seven steps and a gravelled path between house and car and that there is only a narrow spiral staircase between ground and first floor. That was no issue for me however! Something that can be unpleasant but is nothing the owners can do anything about are the at times (mostly at night) very noisy neighbors and the sports field just below the neighbors, which draws in the village youth with booming bluetooth speakers and their basketball and football matches can go as long as 3 am. I would definitely recommend bringing ear plugs despite the otherwise quiet location.
