✓ The place was clean and well equipped.

✗ There is no privacy. There was continuous monitoring through the cameras which ruined our experience at the villa. Our small group of women was not at ease at all in the pool after knowing that we were being monitored by the security person and through the cameras. The flooring on the first floor keeps on making noises, which affected those sleeping on the first floor during the night.

✗ Checkin The listing says that the property accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express but that's false. I messaged the caretaker beforehand to confirm and was informed that I would only have to pay cash. After driving around the city for 2 hours, we found an ATM that let us take out 20K Mauritius rupee at a time. We offered to do a bank transfer but that request was denied. Living Room The living room is huge and surrounded by sliding glass doors. This made it extremely hot, we couldn't spend more than 30 minutes in it. There is no air conditioning in it and the fans are too slow to provide any respite. The furniture was old, stained, and uncomfortable. We avoided the living room altogether because it was so uncomfortable and were confined to our bedrooms. Kitchen This was the first time I'm coming across a property that didn't have tea, coffee, or sugar in the pantry. The kitchen utensils were old and rusty, plates were bent out of shape, pans were greasy with the Teflon scratched and the fridge had cracks. At night, the kitchen table would be full of cockroaches. The kettle was rusted and the freezer had a very unpleasant smell. Bedrooms There is so much empty space in the huge bedrooms but no storage. We had to keep our suitcases on the floor. The air conditioners used in the bedrooms are not meant for rooms of this size and therefore didn't cool the room down well. Also, there are no fans in the rooms which would have been a huge help as the ACs were so inefficient. In one of the bedrooms, the AC wasn't working and when we brought this to the notice of Annie, she simply said 'it's working' and did nothing about it. Also, the WiFi doesn't reach the 1st-floor bedrooms. Wildlife The property is infested with insects. There were dead bugs all over the place and ants everywhere. We even spotted a rat in the property's backyard while putting clothes out to dry.
