Very shabby and poor value - restaurant and roof terrace shut

✓ The staff onsite were lovely. The hotel has potential but it's in a poor location for tourists (20 euros in a cab each way to the centre.) Maybe if you are visiting on business it could be OK, but it needs smartening up.

✗ I travelled as a solo with 2 couples and we'd booked separately (all breakfast included.) They had nicer rooms than me, but when we came to pay I paid more for my room than they paid for theirs - i.e., they paid less than half as much per person as I did despite the fact they had 2 breakfasts to my 1! How can this be? I was absolutely shocked. I was told they had booked standard rooms and I had booked an executive room, but this makes no sense as they got better rooms. In particular for what I paid, the hotel was very poor. The restaurant was closed and the roof terrace was unstaffed with cushions stored, which meant that an area for socialising that could have been lovely simply felt desolate. The whole place needs painting, broken panes of glass need mending and some of the carpet needs cleaning or possibly repainting. A real shame as the staff were very nice - but I would definitely avoid this place.

Nice stay in the city of Syracuse, walking distance from Ortigia (but good 30 minutes)

✓ Breakfast was very good, with all what we wished for. The staff was amazing, this is what I liked the most. They were all very friendly and very helpful. I didn't use the spa, because I am not a big fan of the sauna, and it was not included in the price of the stay (so that you could just quickly jump in the pool). The room was small, but clean and there was everything I needed.

✗ Thd breakfast does not cater to vegan or vegetarian people. There is no huge fruit or alternate options readily available. But if you eat eggs, white toast and meat you shouldn’t have complaints. No lunch served No salad or good salad options The time limit of the sauna/steam room and gym.
