Lovely villa in Albanian mountains
✓ Villa Franceze is a villa built in 1980 to accommodate French engineers who built Koman hydropower plant. For some time it was abandoned and destroyed, now restoring it to its former glory. The villa is nice, due to the vibe feels a bit more like a hostel than a hotel. In the surroundings they've planted some fruit trees and vineyard which is lovely, villa has view to the mountains. Rooms that we were staying in were freshly renovated, airy and quite comfortable. Villa also offers breakfast for 3€. Approximately 300m down the road there is a small shop and 2 restaurants. The villa is only 1-2 km from the dam, offering great getaway for lake Koman and river Shala. The owner is very welcoming and friendly, she organized a tour to the lake and river for us. The villa was fully booked during our stay.
✗ The road. The last 25 km before the Villa Franceze (coming from Shkoder) the road is terrible, full of holes. We needed more than an hour to reach the villa. The breakfast could have some fruit, omelette was cold. The proximate surrounding of the villa and the "beach" next to the river would need some love & care.

Very nice place to relax and do water sports on the lake
✓ The villa is very nice, it has a beach in front of the lake and a shady garden, a nice restaurant with a terrace. The room had lake view. Breakfast was very good for 3 Euro and dinner also for 12-15 Euro. In the restaurant there are a refrigerator and a coffee machine which guests can use. You can have beer and refreshments at a good price. One can take a boat tour of lake Komani and Shala river from the ferry station which is 6 min drive away, but it is better to take a shuttle from the villa, because the paid parking is usually full.

✓ The property is very well maintained, the rooms are well ventilated and the hosts are very friendly :) The breakfast is very good too
✗ For solo travellers like myself it can be a bit pricey :(

For rragam or Shkoder there aren't boats. You can go by bike or bus. If you want to take a farry you can go to fair and return from puke for shkoder, or shala river return only it by boat and always return for shkoder. amazona

you can ask the driver to leave you in our structure, i'm sure there will be not problem. from the hotel is 30 minutes far away by walking to catch the ferry. we have a shuttle that cost 1 euro each if you want

There is no direct bus from Durres to Koman. You would have to take the bus from Durres to another city that has a connection to Koman like Tirana or Shkoder. Otherwise you would need to get a taxi.
