✓ Lupita, our host, offered a truly catered service. For example, if we were going to be late to breakfast, she'd have the cooks stay a little past cut-off to ensure we got to eat in the morning. She was always willing to offer us tips and guidance (including info on transport to/from the airport), and if anything was missing from our suite (like another chef's knife or cooking tool) the fish market would be able to provision for it. The fish market they have downstairs was insanely cool also! Lupita was very chill and fun, and the 9 of us who stayed were very very happy with our experience. The family suite itself was fantastic - a fully equipped apartment, including functional kitchen, multiple bathrooms/showers, AC, balcony and BBQ among others!! If we come back, we fully intend to visit her again. The location is further out, and therefore not very touristic which was perfect for us. We sampled many great restaurants in the area that sported low-cost authentic food, leading to a more overall authentic experience (which is what we were after). It was far enough out to avoid the seeping influence of the hyper-priced coast, but still close enough to walk to when desired (about 20 minutes walking to the beach).
✗ The only things that detracted from our experience a bit were that the temperature of the showers was always a mixed bag (sometimes it was hot for 4 people, and sometimes it was hot for only 20 seconds), and that the main TV in the suite did not have a direct HDMI connection (and was accordingly useless to us). The main TV at the time of writing uses a 3-cable red-yellow-white connector. However, these were very minor compared to our overall experience.
