Coral Beach Maldives

I liked my stay a lot, but I shouldn't have had to go through so much stress on the arrival.

✓ The island itself is awesome. The coastline, the beach, and the coral reef are just breathtaking. Luckily, it's not a resort. This means that you get a rare opportunity to watch the residents of the island and witness their culture on an everyday basis. People are kind and you can get fresh coconuts everyday from two lovely Maldivians by the beach. The island isn't big but there's still a lot of streets for evening walks. There are shops which are basic but give you at least an interesting experience. There's a local coffee shop with an amazing Lavazza - I highly recommend the experience. The property is also very nice and is the closest to the beach which is helpful when you want to go back for a bite or use the toilet. All guys managing the day-to-day at the property are also very helpful and kind. My room was cleaned every day and I'm very grateful for it.

✗ I didn't like three things: - there was nobody waiting for me at the airport and nobody was picking up the phone when I tried calling. This put me under a lot of stres because I knew that there would be a ferry at 11:00 which I needed to make, but I wasn't sent its name so I couldn't know which one to take. I tried texting via booking.com also but to no avail. And if you missed the ferry, you were stuck with your connection. There was one local guy who helped me but the experience was really bad altogether. - after getting to the guest house I was told my room wasn't available and I was moved to a different property. Again, not the experience you want to have after the morning hassle at the airport. This damaged my trust completely. It was yet another disappointment which caused me a lot of unnecessary stress that I didn't want to have after so many hours of travelling and on the first day of my holiday. - very monotonous breakfast - same things every day. It may not be the fault of the chef or the guys managing the property, but I think this place could be generally great if it weren't for very boring meals.

Exceptional

✓ Staff is extra kind and helpful. Food was excellent, always ready on time, break fast, lunch and dinner as well. Hotel is taking place át the best párt of the Island, Room has beautiful view.

Great location on a lovely island, with a few things to improve.

✓ Perfect beachfront location, close to the Bikini beach, good buffet breakfast, friendly staff, free snorkeling masks and gear.

✗ Because a pipe problem that could not be fixed in time, there was no hot water. The dinner buffer could be more diversified/consistent.

Not recommended at all!

✓ Snorkelling at the bikini beach was easy because they had channels with no rocks to reach the deeper part

✗ One of my worst experiences in the maldives On the day I arrived the ferry was cancelled I contacted the owner to help with a solution Because I was 10 min away. He said he is checking and could find a solution - so I got help from the owner of the previous hotel. when reaching the hotel, I was shocked to find out my room was not available although I booked it 6 months in advance! Apparently they do double booking in this they requested all the money up front and had difficulties in providing a receipt. The owner who was saying he tried to help me was acctually in male and not anywhere close they downgraded me for the first night to a less attractive room But they thought they could charge the more expensive rate after confronting the owner he agreed to provide free dinner as a compensation the dinner was not good to say the least and I didnt have any dinners there in the following days. the place is dirty, they don't clean the rooms everyday, and the whole atmosphere is a bad one the beach front is not like you can imagine - the beach is dirty and you cant see the sea theough thw trees (attached photo) breakfast includes ants in the jam for extra protein (see photo) bikini beach was small and cramped and most tourists were from Italy apparently there is an agency there that send people here so unless you speak Italian - its hard to make friends

Pleasant for a very quiet stay of a few days but South India, Thailand and East Africa better value.

✓ The breakfast was very disappointing. Served in a stuffy back room, where the ceiling fan didn't work. A couple of pieces of toast with jam and peanut butter is a slimmers diet! This may be suitable for lodgings at half the price but at around $55 per person per night I would expect more.

✗ The "Tourist Beach" is a small area at the end of the island next to the boat yard. The toilets and showers blocks were unfinished. Many of the beaches are very littered with little attempt to keep them clean. To sit on the empty beach opposite the hotel one would have to be fully clothed which should be made clear in advance. There is little choice to eat elsewhere apart from the hotel, and if you want to eat at another hotel it requires a call from your hotel to set up, which may or may not be made.

A lovely time b

✓ The Room was how it was advertised. The bed was comfortable and the shower good pressure and hot. The room was cleaned everyday. The staff were very eager to please and helpful. The best part was the people I met.

✗ Food was average. They try really hard but never seem to understand that preparing food that is supposed to be hot can't be prepared and then left to sit getting cold. This island is quite far away so it seems all the excursions are much more expensive.

Great and relaxed stay on Hangnaameedho

✓ - Staff was super friendly and helpful regarding any kind of requests - big rooms and the bed was comfortable - Bikini Beach only 5 min away - beautiful beach!!

✗ - the tour prices were not up2date - Breakfast could be a bit “less basic” (e.g. add some juice, fruits, jam, porridge) - diving center and a few restaurants on the island were closed (not the fault of the guesthouse, but should be mentioned)

✓ Lovely spot,close to bikini beach. Rooms very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Everyone at the guesthouse friendly and welcoming. The 2 upstairs rooms have spacious balconies with great views and cooling breezes. Your privacy is respected at all times. Alee has a wealth of local knowledge that he willingly shares and took us to several beautiful offshore snorkelling sites in the dive boat.Just wonderful. Alee also gave us great advice on where to go on the next leg of our journey. This has been invaluable. This review would not be complete without mentioning the wonderful Mohamed. Mohamed takes care of everything to do with your residential stay and is a delightful man with a great sense of humour. FYI - we are older travellers in mid and late sixties.
