A surprising disappointment

✓ This is a very nice hotel and I would love to come back, given the right sircumstances. The rooms was spacious, the bathroom was large and clean and the bar was nice. The breakfast was average in variation, but good in standard. The scenary was very nice and I was happy to be offered parking in front of the hotel.

✗ I booked rather late and stated my arrival time. I asked two questions through the questioneer; one about parking and one about rastaurant closing times. I got a reply regarding the parking to be ok, but they did not mention anything about the restaurant. I took this as a confirmation that the restaurant would still be open at my arrival as I had given my arrival time. I therefore was somewhat surprised when I arrived only to be told the kitchen closed 20 minutes ago. I asked the consierge why he hadn´t mentioned this to my in his reply, but he only shock his head. He didn't even make an effort in calling the kitchen to see if there was someone still there. The bar was good though and the barmaid made afforts to create a nice evening. In the morning came the next surprise: there was no hot water! I ask at the desk if there was something wrong with the hot water supply to my room, but tha answer was that the problem had occured the day before and that they were waiting for a repair. All guest shold have been informed, they said. I went through my emails and search the room for a note or something to confirm this statement, but could find nothing. At check out I described what my experience had been like to a very understanding consierge (not the same as the day before), pointing out that information about kitchen times and the absence of hot water was something I considered important. She appologized on behalf of the hotel and deducted 15% of my bill. In my view the appology was worth far more than the meagre 15%. It should have been at least 50%. I look forward to giving the hotel another chance at a later occation.
