Tranquillity in a heritage home

✓ Idyllic setting by a quiet river. Huge trees and greenery everywhere which protect the house from the heat. Atmospheric traditional Brahmin house but with all modern conveniences and a kitchen. Lovely attentive owners who guided us around.

✗ The only thing ...... the mosquitoes in the garden but none got inside

✓ If you are wanting a quiet holiday where you are tucked away amidst nature, and you are looking at the plains, then this is your home. The hosts are the owners themselves. Lovely couple. The river Meenachil flows behind the house. And the canopy of the trees are such that you wonder when the grounds around the house will get sunlight. One thing though: the night life in the trees really come alive. Crickets go wild. But inside the Mana (house), your windows are netted and you are sorted. Try and go there during the monsoon, and hear the rain falling first on the top of the canopy. Takes a while coming down.

✓ The food was awesome, Typical Kerala Namboothiri dishes!! True heritage property, a cool place surrounded by nutmegs trees, overlooking the "meenachil" river,. Excellent hospitality from the Changazhimattom family !!

✗ An invertor could have helped during power failures.
