Excellent budget stay at Kep Beach
✓ Excellent hospitality - great staff, great location, great large rooms overlooking the sea (get 3rd floor), excellent selection of meals and cocktails. While the rooms can use a deep clean and paint job - it has a really nice charm to it. Large older hotels like these cost $$$ to renovate. It has flaws. However, if you're not looking for perfection and can overlook some issues- stay here. It's super relaxing, steps from the beach and has a varied menu - you dont need to leave the hotel for meals or drinks (Saying this, a dinner at sunset at Vernada Hotel is highly recommended).
✗ Large older hotels like these cost $$$ to renovate. Like many hotels across the world, many have struggled over the pandemic. Paint chipping, rusty guard rails, and general grunginess is also hard to keep up with given the hotel's location on the sea. Elements such as salt water and weather have erroding effects. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed my time here. If you're a chill, laid back traveller who can overlook the little details, the Beach House is a great place

✗ this property needs some maintenance. there are obvious signs that it suffered during the Covid 19 pandemic.

Amazing location
✓ Amazing location across the road from the beach, beach views from the room. The pool was lovely too. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Cocktails in happy hour are 2.50 USD and delicious. The food in the restaurant was very nice and well priced.

Disappointing
✗ Room is not really clean. Facilities are old. Receptionist is not friendly at all. Location wasn't up to expectations because it was loud and noisy. Pool is too deep, not for 167cm but beginner swimmer like me. Toiletries don't value the money. A lot more complaints for me I guess! Anyway, this hotel is not for those who look for relaxation.
