Excellent for what time we spent there.
✓ Due to our friends car breaking down, the staff were so helpful in helping to arrange a hire car. We will be looking to return in 2024 to explore more of the area and use the hotel as a base.

✗ No air-conditioning, so had to leave the windows open during the day/night and being next to the church that tolled each hour did mean waking up early, which would have been okay if I wanted to get up at 7am

✓ The welcome was excellent and the staff very helpful.
✗ My impression was of a rather "tired " hotel that was in need of some renovation, rather than what appeared to be some emulsion paint "slapped " on: even onto the skirting boards in places. There was no restaurant for an evening meal, but a credit note was given for one of two local establishments. For one of these the amount credited would just about cover their basic menu. Didn't seem to meet the claim on the booking confirmation. All in all, I felt somewhat let down by what was called "The Grand Hotel ". I'm sure other visitors might not agree with my comments.

✓ Great location in a very quaint town, nice range of food at breakfast, rooms were relatively clean, staff were very helpful (recommended a nice restaurant).
✗ Overall decor of hotel is outdated, no power sockets near the bed for charging phones, the window in my room was damaged, no sound proofing (I could hear people in other rooms), bathroom needs an upgrade (water damage due to bad design).

✗ The building is tired and needs a refurbish. Wifi was very slow albeit free. Breakfast was passable. The lift has seen better days. The bed was acceptable
