Right in the heart of Sassi Matera - very nice
✓ Room in a cave was novel and well appointed. We had a large jacuzzi in our room and it was fun. Bathroom well appointed with a separate shower room by the jacuzzi. Location was right in old Sassi Matera. Close to restaurants and bars. The view outside our room was stunning. Breakfast was very nice. Great locaiton.
✗ Bed was a little close to an overhang in the cave . We hit our heads a few times. Cave was a little damp as was expected and they also had a dehumidifier so they are prepared.

One of the best boutique hotels in Italy, and for that matter in all of Europe.
✓ This may have been the nicest boutique hotel I have ever stayed in in my entire life. The setting is absolutely perfect, with a view of the historic sassi stone dwellings in Matero. The staff was small, but looked after you like family. The breakfast was astonishing and I felt like I was one Five-star dude.

pleasant stay in a magical city
✓ modern facilities in a cave and overlooking part of the Sassi. just few steps away from the church where you get a Panasonic view. Irene was very kind to provide some prepacked snacks when she heard I’m leaving before breakfast time the next time.

Great location in wonderful Matera
✓ Outstanding locations in the Sassi area of Matera. Great view over the city from one of our rooms. The other two had no view; since one was on the ground floor and the other one in a cave typical of the Sassi. The rooms are very nice. Breakfast very simple, but good.
✗ Sleeping/Living in a cave in Matera is something desirable and is part of the local tradition. However, if you like a room with a window, make sure you ask for it in advance.
