✓ The view of the river was lovely.

✗ I suspect in it's prime this was a great place to stay, but it appears to have suffered from under-investment over recent years. The rooms were dated and require some decent maintenance to bring them up to scratch. Our experience was that the photos on Booking.com did not reflect the current state of the hotel.

Best place I've stayed in Cambodia.

✓ Loved Vedici and stayed an extra week. Location by the river is just as pictured, the views of sunsets over flowering trees from the balconies delightful. The was pool was clean with plenty of daybeds. Meals menu is enough to get on with and it's only a 5 minute scooter/tuktuk ride to Kampot town for a wider variety. Staff arranged a scooter within minutes of me asking, and were generally friendly. Room was great, with dark wood, good aircon and plenty of light from windows on two sides, all shuttered to allow for sleep in. Some people have commented on the riverside seating area being dilapidated- seems it's been fixed as it was a fine place to go for a walk and sit in the pavilions. I didn't swim or kayak in the river but there is easy access as well as boat rides by arrangement.

Apart from the room change it was a very enjoyable vacation. I will return.

✗ I booked room 18 when I made my booking which was confirmed and accepted. However, I was told on arrival that room 18 had a long-stay customer in it and was not available. Why didn't they email me to tell me before I arrived because I might have wanted to cancel and book elsewhere? It is very unprofessional to run a business like this!

A most enjoyable stay with a huge garden and two pools !

✓ Beautiful property located on the river north of the town. Very peaceful and tranquil with stunning views. We had a villa overlooking the river and the views were stunning.

Perfect Getaway

✓ Tranquil and excellent location Host was so helpful, was going out of the way to support , nice bar pools ( haven’t used) garden with play area for kids.

Sadly our expectations were not met and experience not good. Would therefore not recommend

✓ Friendly female staff at reception/bar. Peaceful location though a little far out of town so costs 3 dollars each way to go in. Decent breakfast though cheaper in town. Nice view of river and facilities to use on it…paddle boards, kayaks etc.

✗ Sadly, as it could be lovely, this place is tired around the edges. The pool is nice but tiles missing, the poolside tiles are broken in places, the pool furniture is worn. Our room was main issue, for £40 a night we expected comfort, instead we had broken and old furniture with lost or missing cushions, gaps around entrance door for mosquitos to enter, aircon that broke down in middle of night meaning room very hot, gaps in ceiling in bathroom so mosquitos everywhere. We had two bad nights of sleep…first mosquitos, second aircon breakdown. We tried to discuss with owner but he chose to stay away leaving a poor new girl looking flustered. In the end we paid full price as we had to get bus and couldn’t wait for owner to return ( despite fact he was on phone to reception!) but it was not worth the price paid.

A peaceful, friendly and affordable location which I would recommend to anyone.
