The property is well maintained for an old building. Everything was clean and comfortable. Excellent location!

I was very disappointed that breakfast wasn’t available. When I made the reservation with Booking it indicated breakfast, but the dining room was closed. On a island it’s important to have this available.

I came with friends on a one day trip, but we got stranded because of the weather. So I found this guesthouse on Booking and it was fine. Nice cleen room and private bathroom. I was wery happy with it. And good location. Wery central.

Fabulous location! As soon as we arrived, keys were laid out and rooms were ready for us (even a little before check in time). Rooms were pretty basic, but clean and comfortable. There was a shared refrigerator on our floor which was a nice perk. All in all, if you want a convenient and comfortable place to stay on Heimaey, this is a great choice.

The breakfast was good, selection of items was reasonable, quality of was good. Coffee was okay but could have been better.

The host moved her car so we could park on the drive of the property. There was a big fridge just outside our room which was very handy. The location was within walking distance of lots of eating places which was great.

We were there in late September. They didn’t serve breakfast but had coffee and cereal availiable. The rooms are large and clean comfy beds and a great location. Very good value. I would recommend the Hotel Hamar.

Staff was exceptional. We especially enjoyed the tour of the puffin capsule hostel also located in this hotel. Rooms were very clean.

We had a little trouble with the shower door. We heated the tea pot up in the bathroom as there wasn’t an electrical outlet nearby.

The location is super close to the harbor, making the guesthouse an easy access to the ferry service. The room is simple with few furniture so more spaces for luggage. The hostess suggested me postpone the return ferry to have good breakfast at the guesthouse—it was a right decision.

There are only four parking places in front of the hotel, so I had to park my car far from the hotel due to many parked cars around it. There is no elevator in the guesthouse and the rooms are in second floor or higher, therefore it is not so convenient for travelers with heavy luggage to carry on.

Vestmannaeyjar was an absolutely charming town and so was our stay with Guesthouse Hamar! The room was lovely. Large enough for 3 of us and our luggage. The facilities were clean, and I loved the decor style. The view of the town from our window was spectacular - especially the volcanoes! The location was perfect as the town is fairly small and very walkable.

Everything was lovely!

Decent value for money, very friendly staff and convenient location, comfortable rooms for 4 people in 1 room for 1 night. Would recommend again! Friendly staff.

no elevator (not mentioned elsewhere but we had to carry big bags up several flights), mediocre breakfast (cereal, toast, some cheeses and meats, oatmeal, yogurt).

what is the ferry schedule? the ferry will be closed at night ?

The ferry schedule is online at Herjólfur and best to view news and schedule there. The last ferry from the main land goes from Landeyjarhöfn at 23 15 and is closed until 07 00 next morning.

Hello, how far are you from the ferry? Is there any food market on the island? If we book and the weather gets too bad for the ferry to sail, do we get refund?

Hello, The ferry is in 5 minute walking distance from the Guesthouse. Yes, we have both supermarkets Krónan and Bónus at the island. If the ferry is not sailing due to weather, you'll get a full refund. If the ferry is going, there is no refund.
