✓ The situation of the hotel couldn’t be better, a couple of minutes walk to the walled city. A plentiful and fresh breakfast, croissants, bread, cheeses, fruit etc. The restaurant has most of its seating outside, and a lot of non residents come to eat here. Evening food is simple and reasonably priced. The outdoor bar is small but popular with locals and guests and is very relaxed. It’s an older hotel, so is a little worn in places (I think it adds to it’s charm) but is scrupulously clean. The thing that really makes this hotel somewhere you would come back to is the staff. So friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.

Plenty of power points Cons: Did not like shower as water ended up on bathroom floor Only 2 clothes hangers Wooden floor slats outside apartment floor not very stable no mini/supermarkets nearby and no vending machine at hotel Transport to and from town not a great service - buses do not go up hill after 8pm taxis only available in town from train station. you have to speak fluent French to order a taxi by phone. Cassoulet was too salty and duck leg was tough and inedible liked the sausages, pork, beans and bread apple pie was good though as was cheese selection

It was a brilliant place to stay. Highly recommended.

✓ The location was fantastic. Free parking within walking distance of Carcassonne citadel. What not to like? The atmosphere of the property was so nice and friendly. Lovely bar area in the evening with locals joining hotel guests

✓ We could see Carcassonne from our bedroom windows. Room was very large and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the server was super. Our host was very helpful with information on the area.
