Homewood Suites By Hilton Ottawa Downtown

Exceeded my expectations in all aspects.

✓ The room was well appointed. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. All the staff were extremely kind and helpful. The breakfast buffet was typical selection but I especially liked the comfortable seating in the restaurant and that each table contained a pot of coffee ready to pour and enjoy.

✗ I liked everything. Parking was a bit pricy so perhaps you could consider free or discounted parking to Hilton members

Nice room and staff, poor breakfast and one horrible waiter

✓ The room and most of the staff were very nice. The location is outstanding.

✗ The breakfast was very repetitive - waffles every day, a few other elements rotated on a 2-3 day basis. If you're staying there for a longer period of time, definitely skip breakfasts. The waiters at breakfast request a tip for doing absolutely nothing, as the breakfast is a buffet and you do all of the work except for being seated (which also was pointless, as one could easily choose a table on their own). One of the waiters was extremely rude and tried to prohibit our group from leaving the area without leaving a tip. I have no problem with tipping, but since this was a business trip I could not leave it "on the room", as this would no longer be a business expense and I would have problems with my employer. I wanted to tip at the end of the stay with cash, but the waiter did not listen. The waiter then asked about our nationality, and when revealed, the waiter proceeded to make some rude comments insinuating that "it made sense". Super arrogant and condescending.

✓ Breakfast was great, enjoyed the seating area. Appreciated the take out containers Loved how easy it was to get to subway (right across the street) and it was so quick and convenient to get to our destinations! Rooms were super quiet, never heard other people or hallway noise! Liked the shower products as well as soap and lotion

✗ Gym- waaaay too hot and not that much equipment, mostly cardio and a lot of that type of equipment Dishes- kitchen did not have much in it as far as dishes or cooking pots/pans

✓ The staff were friendly, the room was comfortable and spacious and my dinner in the restaurant was delicious. Very convenient location for all the sights too.
