Lovely room with great view a short flat walk from Fiskardo

✓ the room, which was at the 3rd floor on the far right of the stairs had an amazing view from all sides, of the bay, the mountains, the sea, the villas and the distant islands. Just a short walk (8-10 mins) into the beautiful village of Fiskardo. There is a lovely beach called Emblisi, which is just a 5 min drive with crystal clear water, its far better than Foki and Zephalata. The room had everything you need, and the sheets were simply divine, a soft sheen cotton that make me sleep very well. The kitchen has everything, and the balcony is very spacious, with 3 chairs and a table. There is a modern bathroom with a huge shower area and the water was instant, good shower head.. Owner is friendly. The outer gardens at the front are very pretty with a lot of flowers.

✗ Ive always had free water, 1 bottle for every day booked, in every apartment in Kefalonia, this was the first one to charge, despite the free small bottle of wine, I would have preferred free water than free wine. The air condition control is fixed to the wall, I like it to be a handset that I can control from my bed during the night, it is also a little noisy, but not too bad. There are no plug points in the right position, for instance there are none by the bed to charge up your mobile, there was one half way up the wall in a random area. The doors all need replacing, soon, and the general areas look in need of modernisation, but the decor in my room was more than adequate and very pleasant. The TV, although advertised as hundreds of channels, many channels do not connect and most of the ones are in german before you get tired of clicking the buttons to find more, I don't have hours to find one in my language so please put the channel numbers for each language in your instructions! The secondary TV control did not work. But all these are minor things and I would stay again for sure.

We love the island and especially Fiscardo and enjoyed the Stella despite some of its shortcomings.

✓ I have stayed before and was as wowed by the view as the first time I saw it. The location suits very well - a short walk (10 minutes) to the centre and fairly quiet although on the road. the family who run the apartments are very welcoming and helpful.

✗ The studios are basic, as we knew, but the maintenance and workmanship is poor.

✗ TV was a bit of a challenge.. unable to find any English speaking channels despite 100’s to choose from 30 steps up to the entrance which is not clear when booking but the lift works well and is quite an experience!

Spacious apartment, adequate but…..

✗ …very tired, over-priced….lots of rules, aircon controller wired to the wall (get the message?), shower screens evidently broken and never replaced, dusty reception, kettle-but-no-coffee sort of place. After 60 days on the road with bicycles…the worst value place of the trip.

✓ The owner(?) was very kind, the location is great, very quiet, yet close to the harbor. It's easy to get around and the view is amazing. The apartments are well kept, the beds are super comfy and they have the nets against mosquitos too so it was convenient.

✗ Parking is on the street, but to be fair there was enough space so it wasn't too bad.
