Could be so good but needs a rethink
✓ We booked a double bed in the dorm room and a private room. Good location and okay value for Japan. Manager was friendly enough. Really good and well priced breakfasts.
✗ It was just a little weird. The dorm room is in what was a garage and is sort of open plan so if anyone is doing anything then you can hear it. We got lucky as everyone was very polite and it was quite empty, but if all 26 spaces were filled then I don’t think it would be great. There is only one female and one male toilet for 26 people! And 2 showers. It has NO LOCKERS but there are signs saying they are not responsible for lost or stolen property. In the double bed you get a small wooden chest at the opposite side of the curtain, it doesn’t fit big backpacks or hard suitcases so the common area gets filled with bags because there is nowhere else to put them. The sheet is not fitted and only just bigger than the mattress so it repeatedly comes off which we didn’t like. It just needs some more love and some attention and it could be so good! FYI the private rooms have a microwave but no cutlery etc we got a plastic spoon to eat with but when we returned the room had been cleaned and it had been thrown away. Really annoying!

A good stay on a budget
✓ For the cheap price, it was a good stay. The hotel room had everything that we needed, more spacious than I expected. We shared bathroom and shower, but only with one other room. The hotel is located right by the station. The owner was nice and let us store our bags in the lobby during the day.
✗ The microwave and fridge was located in the shared shower room, and thus inaccessible if someone showered. The building and rooms definitely felt old and worn down.
