New President Hotel Zamalek

Will definitely stay there again. Recommend

✓ Great location, rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable, and has everything needed. I was a bit worried at first as 3 star hotels tend to be tricky in Cairo but it met my expectations. Helpful staff and a good variety of restaurants and pubs in the area. Room had a safe, smart tv, toiletries, mini bar, kettle with tea/coffee. Good value for money.

Basic but clean and central. You get good value for the money.

✓ The location was great. Very central, you have the whole Zamalek close. The staff was very friendly. The room was very basic, but clean (although had to ask them to clean the bathroom an extra time when I checked in, but they did and after that everything was spotless). The wifi worked well, my room was also facing a courtyard, so it was very quiet. For me the best part was that the room didn’t have a full carpet, this is a plus!

✗ There are always improvements that can be made, the small finishes and details, to elevate the place more. Especially the check in area which wasn’t very cozy. Doesn’t really affect the stay, just as a note. This is more of a hotel that you would just sleep in and spend your days outside, not a hotel for relaxing and staying in to have an experience.

Nice location but low quality

✓ Stuff was helpful, breakfast was nice incuding local and european options. To get to the restaurant you had to go to next building, but is fine. Also there was a lively bar with Italian kitchen. Two bottles of water provided daily and once a week you get complimentary fruit plate. There is also a fridge and minibar. Location is great, you can find many restaurants nearby and couple of supermarkets.

✗ The rooms were smoking rooms and smelled a lot. I changed it to "better on" but still could fill it. The bed was not comfy with sagging mattress under the head. The bathroom doir was opening in a way that you don't have an access to toilet. Shower sink was not working and water stayed for a long time, I had terrible feeling with feet in the water while showering. I asked the reception but they blamed old pipes. There is a one hour power cut daily but this is not the hotel fault, it's a government decision to try to save. At the end I was charged something like 60 euros more than was stated on the booking site (exchange rate difference they say, but still too much). Overall not satisfied with the stay and paying 120 euros for a standard double small room with that quality is too much. The rooms are outdated and need a renovation.

Comfy hotel, but not outstanding.

✓ Well located, comfy and clean rooms, and polite staff.

✗ Felt like it was an annex to the hotel right next door, and because it has "new" in the name, you'd think it's the more up to date version, but this was not the case. The facilities were limited and the 'original' president was far nicer. For around the same price, you could stay in nicer hotels nearby.

✗ The restaurant next door is very convenient for grabbing a quick breakfast in the morning. Be sure to verify with the server that they have all the ingredients listed on the menu. I ordered 2 items separately and wasn't told that they did not have all of the stated ingredients until afterwards and was still charged full price.
