Villa Rosa Maldives

Simply perfect!

✓ Everything is simply perfect! If you are planning to go on vacation to the Maldives, this is the place! The hosts, Claudio and Michela, are extremely caring. The food is incredible, every day savoury meals and desserts are served. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the common inner garden area provides a nice environment to relax and chill during the day. Private beach area also a super plus! Highly recommended!

Disappointing and did not meet expectations

✓ The place is clean (only inconvenience you're walking barefoot and transferring sand around as you go).

✗ felt like I was in a military camp. Fixed meals, fixed eating hours (they show discontent if you're a few minutes late), they even assign you a place to sit at the dining table!!! They don't tell you that you will be barefoot the whole time and don't provide you slippers/slip-flops to put on when you're indoors. Pictures are very different from reality and the meals offered are plain and tasteless (except for dessert). water pressure is so bad in the bathroom and water smells like sulfur. My overall experience in this place was bad and I felt extremely uncomfortable as was the experience of the couple I met there. Very disappointing.

The location was great but I wouldn’t recommend this property based on the host Claudio.

✓ The property was great and had a good ambience overall. There were two owners, Mikela was lovely and was a great host, hospitable however Claudio was a different story all together. He created a Negative atmosphere, was constantly rude and none of the other guests had good things to say about him. I wouldn’t recommend this property solely based on him.

Very good value place

✓ The hosts are incredible, always there to help if you need something. The food was the best I’ve ever had in a hotel/guesthouse, by far. The island has like 2-3 more guesthouses, but they’re either tiny or were empty during my stay. So the beach was peaceful and almost empty. Loved that. Reliable wifi and mobile internet on the island.

✗ I say this with a heavy heart, but the open bathroom does mean you get insects unfortunately. During my week-long stay I got huge ones, three times. A bit of flexibility with the timing of meals would help. Heavy dinner at 8pm isn’t very good for you, I would’ve loved to choose my dinner time myself. As this is a tiny island, the guesthouse is really the only place you can get a proper meal too. My room was quite dark - the only window was the one looking into the bathroom.

✓ The hosts, Mr Claudio and Michela are absolutely fantastic, the food is delicious and the place is awesome. It's a perfect place to relax, enjoy some great food and interaction with the great hosts.
