Basic short stay accommodation

✓ Compact room but clean and tidy. Very friendly and helpful staff

✗ Not much sound insulation so quite noisy when people moving around or chatting in the corridor or rooms nearby. Only 1 bathroom to use at the far end of the corridor from me. Not sure how many rooms I was sharing it with, but could do with a second bathroom at the other end of the corridor.

✗ Administrator gave the card to my room to another traveller. I understand it was a mistake, but that person had all the access to my luggage and documents. It was a very unpleasant experience and the staff didn’t even try to make the situation better.

A sincere and absolute 10

✓ My stay at Fonda Monserrat was a sincere and absolute 10, in all aspects. The staff responded to a question that I had had before arrival professionally and right away. When I arrived, the owner was very welcoming and polite, and although I had booked a single room with shared bathroom, she gave me an upgraded room with private bathroom that was free at that time, which I really appreciated. But my most positive review is not just thanks to that; the owners and all the staff (my regards and thanks to the cleaner as well, who was there to take care of the room every day) were kind, professional and so pleasant to communicate with and provided any assistance I might needed from the first until the last minute of my stay there. Downstairs there is their restaurant offering great Spanish dishes and vine, served again by very kind staff. I'll surely be back there soon enough. In the meantime, I wish them success and wellbeing. It was a pleasure.

✓ Both owners and all their staff there are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Excellent location. I like that there’s a possibility to have breakfast and lunch there. The food is delicious and at a good price. It’s quiet at night. Everything there is done correctly. Best hostel I’ve ever stayed in without a doubt. Better than some of the hotels around the same area too.
