✓ We arrived in the dark in the middle of the night and were picked up from the ferry but when we opened the doors the following morning - WOW - what an amazing location with great views. There were howling winds throughout our stay but the Alkionides was definitely the high spot of our holiday and we really didn't want to leave. Marina and Giannis are wonderful hosts, so kind and so helpful. For animal lovers there are goats and dogs and a donkey and chickens (but they weren't wandering freely so don't worry if you're not an animal lover). The location is up a small hill just outside the main town - it's not paved but is easily walkable in five minutes unless you have mobility issues, and the pathway is lit at night. I can't rate this place highly enough, it sounded good on the internet but when you get there it exceeds all expectations. Thank you Marina and Giannis - we hope we'll be back.

- Marina and Yannis are adorable hosts! They picked me up at the port and dropped me off on my departure day. They're simply kind and beautiful people, worthy ambassadors of Greek hospitality.
- The rooms are up on a hill surrounded by an amazing, colourful garden and the view from there is breathtaking.Trust me, you will not want to leave the place.
- The decoration is lovely combining a traditional vibe with modern comfort and equipment.
- My room was spotlessly clean.
- Loved the firm mattress (haven't slept that well in ages!) + the fluffy towels.
- Icing on the cake: You'll meet Giselle, the couple's dog 🐶. They couldn't have thought of a better name, Giselle's as gorgeous and as elegant as the Brazilian model

✓ Lovely spot with a great view- not directly in town so it was really quiet. Good facilities and a nice spot to hang out, eat, chill and work 😊
✗ WiFi didn’t really work (although this is an issue on the island, not just at this hotel), and because the location is a little out of town, there is a big hill to walk up- I didn’t mind, but good to know if you have any issues with heat or any disabilities and don’t plan on having a car.
