Vilamendhoo Island Resort & Spa

Great experience overall. Especially for people who love snorkeling/diving.

✓ 1. The transfer is well organized. As a person with a motion sickness I liked that there is a seaplane to the island and not a boat. 2. The staff is friendly and helpfull. 3. My garden villa was in a good condition, with a working air conditioner, a hair dryer, many hangers and so on. 4. Breakfasts, lunches and dinners were excelent (buffet style). 5. A beautiful and big home reef; you can rent a mask, a snorkel and fins or bring your own. 6. There are snorkeling excursions. If you have a motion sickness - they will give you a pill. I went on a manta excersion and liked it a lot. 7. There is a diving center if you'd like to get padi certified, although it would be much cheaper to do in your home country.

✗ 1. For the first few days my villa wasn't cleaned although I rarely left the "do not disturb" coconut in front of the door. After I called the reception and told about that - they started to clean the villa. 2. I'd prefer there weren't bushes in the sandy area in the bathroom - I hoped to do some exercises, but there wasn't enough space.

✓ This is my as second stay in Vilamendhoo. It is a pure heaven! The house reef is world class — sharks, turtles, rays, moral eel, wrasse, trevally, grouper, etc. everything! I also did a vila snorkeling tour, swam with whale sharks and manta rays again. I stayed at a jacuzzi overwater bungalow this time. It is heaven — surrounded by ocean, swim from my porch, shark and sting ray are uninvited guests passing by, relaxing in jacuzzi. The food is great. The service is impeccable. You can see the fish phasing by while being massaged. The value is unbeatable. This is the best resort in Maldives. No need to look further.

✗ The adult only policy keeps family away from the overwater bungalows. Last time when I came here with my daughter, we could not enjoy the overwater bungalow. Maybe the resort can relax the rules to teenagers.

Excellent stay!

✓ Very nice resort with super friendly staff. And the stunning houserif! So many colourful fish! I arrived on my birthday. I booked 1 night in a gardenbungalow and1 night in a watervilla. I got a free upgrade so I could stay 2 nughts in a watervilla, so many thanks again. And in the evening a special dessert for my birthday, delicous!! The food was so good an so many choice. I will recommend this resort to everybody!

Amazing!

✓ A wonderful place, with the kindest staff I have ever met. An incredible reef around the island with a full variety of fish and corals that I have encountered in the largest aquariums in the world. We did several excursions, saw sharks, manta rays, turtles. The divers are also professional guys who took care of us the whole time. We were served by only 1 waiter and 1 valet during the entire stay. We felt special and cared for. This is definitely our place in the Maldives and we will be coming here again. Thank you for the good organization, setting and service!

✓ The sport facilities, the food, drinks, snorkeling around the hotel, barefoot, swimming pools... Everything. Seaplane expérience is exciting.

✓ Nice & comfy hotel in a good location, house reef is good and the diving center is great. Food is ok with good variety and options.

✗ Alcohol and cocktails are so-so. The service at the bars could be better.
