✗ Turns out that my room without window did not have any air circulation, so the air quickly became stale even when air conditioner was running. I was occasionally ventilating into the hallway.

Bare bones hostel which does the job, next to Taipei Main Station

✓ Central location is perfect, and the staff is extremely helpful and gave me advice about where to get my equipment fixed. Facilities were clean.

✗ Room with window turned out to be very noisy and hot. The old window does not insulate much and noise from the nearby bus station can be heard constantly. Some facilities, while clean, show signs of wear and tear - like men's shower on 4th floor with cracked tiles, or shared room on 3rd floor.

Convenient location but could have cleaner showers

✓ I had stayed in the hostel before and they had kept my luggage for me and even placed me in the same room. The hostel is located in a very convenient location so I could access the coach station, high speed rail, metro and the metro to Taoyuan airport.

✗ I used the showers at night and there was lots of hair blocking the drains. The washing machine was not working. There is no mirror in the room so it was inconvenient having to walk back and forth to the shared toilet.

Convenient location for a short stay

✓ The location is perfect as it is located right next to Taipei station, the hub for all coach and high speed rail connections that I needed for my excursions out of Taipei and to the Taoyuan airport. Taipei station area is always difficult to navigate with all it's confusing underground links, but this hotel was convenient enough. They were also happy to store my luggage at the reception in between my stays. Check in was extremely efficient.

✗ I normally use the shared bathrooms at night and they had felt quite well used by that time of the day. There was no mirror in my room and it was a bit troublesome to walk back and forth from the shared bathroom. The walls are not super soundproof but I was not too bothered by that.

Good and central stay in Taipei

✓ Nice and central place to stay in Taipei. I had a single room without windows and shared bathroom and found everything I needed and required. The place is clean and well equipped; hosts at the reception are friendly and helpful.

✗ Aircon in the room was a bit noisy but that‘s a minor detail — am using earplugs anyways.

Basic yet great Hostel Stay.

✓ Location was Awesome. Take M6( stairs) or Z2( Lift) exit from Taipei Main Station and you're already 2 mins away from the doorstep of the hostel. Receptionists were friendly and room was clean with BASIC facilities. Shared hot water shower and toilet facilities were in working order. Place not suitable for wheelchairs and strollers. Wi-Fi and TV were in working order and that helped being connected during the Typhoon Day on 3/8/23. Convenience stores, basement eateries, Cosmed pharmacies all sprouted within the hostel area... National Taiwan Museum and Natural History Museum all within walking mins.

✗ Room with Windows would be my personal preference. Male and female toilets/shower facilities in very close proximity. More areas to chill and relax would be great.
