Charming Lady who runs this very comfortable guest house in a very peaceful part of Pickering.

✓ A very lovely lady who runs the place , and all the young girls and lady cleaners were very happy in there work and made us feel very welcome even when we got in their way . The rooms were spotless and linen fresh and smelt lovely , clean towels and face clothes everyday, great views from our back room windows. Smashing cooked breakfast in the morning with as much tea and coffee you could drink. Some great pubs in the town , Try the Bay Horse Inn, great beer and cider lovely people in their.Try the White Swan Inn up the hill, Black Swan turned us away for food because we were not staying with them, there loss, spent over 2 hundred quid in the White Swan Inn, great night lovely food.

✗ I really cannot think of anything that was wrong with our stay and I would highly recommend THE OLD MANSE it was fab, we will be going back there next year when we get the dates for Bangers And Cash event at Scampton Hall in 2024. And a big thanks to everyone at the Bangers and Cash event especially the Mathewson family who made our trip to this beautiful part of the world so memorable, North Yorks we love you, and see you soon. ✓ It was spotlessly clean, comfortable and stylish. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was excellent. They also very kindly posted something back to me that I had left behind.

✗ The water pressure in the shower in my room was incredibly low. My room was at the top of the house. At one point, when others were showering in other their rooms, I couldn’t even get hot water in my shower. I could hear a bit more noise than was ideal from the room next door to mine on the second night.

✓ A fabulous place to stay in Pickering. My room was extremely comfortable with good facilities and bathroom. Luxurious linen and large towels with daily servicing of the room. The hostess couldn't be more friendly or hospitable, welcoming you as you arrive with a lovely pot of tea and biscuits and providing you with a cool drink when you return after a long hot day of sightseeing. Nothing is too much trouble for her as she takes great care of her guests. The back garden is a lovely restful and pretty retreat in the afternoon/early evening. The off-street parking situated inn the house grounds is a real bonus and I was also able to leave my car there after I checked out while I went to visit Pickering Castle. Breakfast is a real treat with lots of yummy options and a scrumptious cooked to order hot meal.
