✓ Good location to explore the ancient city. Friendly staff that can speak English.
✗ Room was very cold The second day, the room was left open after they did the cleaning. Nothing was missing, but it felt a bit scary at first when I arrived in the evening. They threw away my toothbrush (???) But the owner was kind enough to buy me another one.

Nice courtyard hotel for a couple of nights.
✓ Nice central location. Courtyard hotel with lots of character. English speaking hosts. Cheap meals on site. Arranged a safe and reliable driver to Mianshan mountain for a day trip.
✗ Shower pressure could have been better!

Lovely stay & magic courtyard atmosphere
✓ The owners are fluent English speakers, which I was not expecting and can make a whole trip experience much easier. They are also really nice and helpful. The location of the property is great, within the city walls and right off one of the main streets. It is not far from the wall gate on the west side, so it's easy to find even on your first trip. FYI they can arrange a pick-up for your departure with a car that is allowed indide the city walls. The courtyard atmosphere is magic and cannot be experienced staying at a standard hotel. Unbeatable value for money.
✗ I think before commenting anything remotely negative one should remember that with similar rates in other parts of the world you can barely get a bunk and a shared bathroom!

Does the job at a good price
✓ Location is very good. Very reasonable price. Room is fine, bed is big, easy to find the place once you arrive in town. Pretty building. Room had TV, big table, everything you need.
✗ Door to room can't be closed properly from outside, has to be left ajar with nothing but a tiny padlock stopping people from entering Shower extremely weak (but it is in an old town...) Random pipe hanging from bathroom ceiling dripping water everywhere occasionally WiFi essentially non-functional
